At Mirvish Productions we respect your right to privacy and are committed to safeguarding the personal information you provide to us when you buy tickets to any performance, subscribe to a series of performances, enter a contest/giveaway and/or opt-in to various marketing communications.

Through the Mirvish Productions websites: mirvish.com, tickets.mirvish.com, subscriptions.mirvish.com and other websites we maintain, through the Mirvish Productions mobile application (the Mirvish App), over the phone through the Audience Services department, in-person at the Mirvish theatre box offices or through messaging services (Text, Messaging or Chat apps), Mirvish Productions will only collect personal information which is related to the nature of the request or transaction.

This privacy policy sets out how the personal information you provide to us is protected under the provisions of Canada’s Privacy Act and is used by Mirvish Productions and the limited circumstances under which any of it is shared with third parties. It also sets out how you can control the use of that information. Mirvish Productions does not sell or rent any of your personal information to third parties.

Collection Of Personal Information

To make a commercial transaction (e.g. purchase tickets to a show), enter a contest/promotion, subscribe to an e-newsletter, access the App or interact with Audience Services staff, we may require you to provide personal information. Mirvish Productions may share this information with a limited number of third parties for the purpose of providing more enhanced and personalized services and experiences to you.

Personal information can include, but is not limited to, your name/business name, address, telephone numbers, email address and payment information. Mirvish Productions may also collect demographic information such as your date of birth, gender and language preference for marketing purposes.

Mirvish Production may also automatically collect information when you visit our sites by using cookies. A cookie file is stored in your web browser and allows the service or a third-party to recognize you and make your next visit easier and the service more useful to you. This information along with the personal information you share may be combined to remember your preferences for customized content, past purchase history, device information, location information, browser type and your internet service provider.

How We Use

Conduct financial transactions

If you make a purchase through the site to attend any of our productions or any other productions for which Mirvish Productions is an agent, we will use your credit card number only to process your payment and will not use it for marketing purposes. For reasons of security, credit card information is not stored on our web server. We will retain order information for our records, but this information is never shared with third parties. Any web page on our site that requests credit card information is encrypted, using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology for your protection. Mirvish Productions will protect any personal financial information that you share with us. To process payment plans, credit card information is stored as a token, a secure method of removing sensitive financial data from our internal network and replacing it with a randomly generated, unique placeholder.

An email address and password are required when making a purchase online through the site to complete a transaction. The only official and authentic website through which tickets can be purchased from Mirvish Productions is www.mirvish.com.

Email addresses and phone numbers provided to Mirvish Productions through its sites are used to send you a confirmation of your transaction, pre-show reminders, post-show thank you emails and special offers/e-News emails.

Communicate with Users

E-News/Special Offers Communications

Sent to patrons who sign-up expressly through mirvish.com, through Audience Services or those who have made a purchase with Mirvish Productions (and provide an email address).

Group Communications

Group Communications will only be sent to those who have made a purchase on behalf of a group or for those who have expressly opted-in via Audience Services.

Subscriber Communications

Mirvish Productions communicates to its theatre Subscribers through an e-newsletter for active Mirvish Subscribers. Only those subscribed to the current Mirvish Productions Theatre Season (Main or Off-Mirvish Seasons) will be opted into this communication.

Show-related Communications

As a service to our patrons, show-related emails, App push notifications or text messages (SMS) may be sent both in advance and after a performance you have purchased tickets to highlight key information about the performance.

If the “Share Ticket” feature was used on our sites, we may collect your name and email address, or phone number, as well as the name, email address or phone number of the recipient. We do not use the names or email addresses submitted in these circumstances for any purpose other than sending an email on your behalf, unless we obtain the recipient’s consent.

All email communications are sent through a third-party Email Marketing System (EMS).

App Push Notifications

The Mirvish App may send you push notifications regarding performances you have purchased tickets for, ticket on-sales, activities or promotions taking place at our theatres or the App.

Mirvish App Push Notifications are sent through third-party App Developer.

Text Message (SMS) Communications

If you sign-up expressly to receive text messages (SMS), this service allows you to receive text messages on your mobile device for general communications and/or show related alerts. By providing a mobile number, and opting in, you agree to receive real-time text alerts from Mirvish Productions. Message and data rates may apply. Please contact your wireless carrier for details. Service only available in Canada.

Text message communications are sent through a third-party SMS platform.

Operational Partners

We partner with third parties to operate certain part of our sites. With our ticketing software provider, we may share information about you to them and their service providers like payment, fraud, security, or technical protection partners. We may share your personal information internally or with service providers or business partners to detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security, or technical issues that may put at risk Mirvish Productions, its users, business partners, or the public.

Non-personal Identification Information

Mirvish Productions may collect non-personal identification information about you whenever you interact with the sites. Non-personal identification information may include the browser name, the type of computer and technical information about the means of connection to the sites, such as the operating system and the Internet service providers utilized and other similar information.

The App may request access or collect certain features from your mobile device, including operating systems, Bluetooth and location services. If you wish to change your permissions, you may do so at any time in your device settings. No personal or financial information is stored in the App.

How We Share

Contest and promotions

Mirvish Productions may occasionally present a special contest or promotion on its Sites, App or through a mailing list that is accessed through a partnership with another organization(s). To qualify for entry, we may ask you to provide personal information (i.e. name, address, phone number, age and other demographic information). If we plan to share that information with the other participating partners, we will provide a statement to that effect.

We strongly suggest you read any rules and regulations that are provided for contests and promotions provided through the Site, App or through a mailing list, determine how your information is to be used.

Advertisers & Sponsors

Mirvish Productions may send you ads through its Site or App from third-party advertisers and sponsors. These companies may use information about your visits to the site or app and other websites that are contained in web cookies to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you.

Our cookies fall into two categories:

Essential cookies that are required for the site to operate properly. If these are deactivated, you will not be able to use essential website services.

Mirvish Productions reserves the right to modify or change this privacy policy at any time. When we do, we will revise the “Updated” date at the beginning of this web page. We encourage Users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect. As a condition of using the Sites or the App, you acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this privacy policy periodically and become aware of modifications.

Your Acceptance Of These Terms

By using the site(s) or app that Mirvish Productions maintains, you signify your acceptance of this policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use our sites or app. Your continued use of the site or app following the posting of changes to this policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.

Remove Information

Any electronic correspondence sent by Mirvish Productions will always offer you the option to be removed from the e-mail/electronic or text messages list.

You may remove yourself from any email lists through the unsubscribe link found in any email received. To be removed from text message lists, you can reply STOP to unsubscribe. Users may also text HELP for further assistance. Text message services are not provided outside of Canada.

Users can opt-out from receiving push notifications from the app by changing permissions in their device settings.

Users may also be removed from any list by emailing audienceservices@mirvish.com or calling 1.800.461.3333 with the email address or phone number they wish to have unsubscribed or removed.

Under Canada’s Anti-Spam legislation (CASL), individuals can be sent commercial electronic messages from an organization with whom they have an existing business relationship or who have expressly opted-in to receive communications.
