Meet the Matildas: Olympics Edition
MEET THE MATILDAS Olympics Edition
If you were in the Olympics what sport would you do?
>> Jenna Weir: I’d choose figure skating because first of all, you get to wear really cool costumes.
>> Jaime MacLean: I am a dancer and the closest thing would be figure skating for that, so I say figure skating because it’s awesome.
>> Hannah Levinson: I would want to be a figure skater also because I love skating.
What’s the best part about competing in the Olympics?
>> Jaime MacLean: Getting to know that you got in, or something like that.
>> Hannah Levinson: Yeah.
>> Jaime MacLean: Feeling the nice joy in your stomach like, “oh I feel so special!”
>> Hannah Levinson: I think it’s really special because, you know, it’s very hard to get into The Olympics.
>> Jenna Weir: I think it would be really cool having the feeling of saying “I did it, I’m in The Olympics, I’m about to go on and do the best I can.”
If you were the coach of Team Canada, what advice would you give to the athletes?
>> Hannah Levinson: To really stay focused and never goof around and to always keep your eye on the puck.
>> Jaime MacLean: I would say try your hardest and I have to be with Miss Trunchbull for a little bit. Always keep your feet inside the line. You have to follow the rules because then you get disqualified.
>> Jenna Weir: If I was the coach I would tell them believe in yourself before every time you go on and do it. Say “I can do this. I’m ready. I’ve worked so hard and now this is my time”.
What sport would you like to see Miss Trunchbull compete in?
>> Jaime MacLean: Football because she’d be like “get out of my way!”
>> Jenna Weir: I think it would be really weird and funny to see her be a figure skater. Just imagine her on skates with a pink tutu and like, this sparkly costume.
>> Hannah Levinson: I think her trying to be graceful would be hilarious.
>> Jaime MacLean: Yes. It would be awesome.
>> Jenna Weir: And I think especially if they were doing partner dancing and she was with a partner she’d say “get out! this is my time.” *sings a note*
>> Hannah Levinson: Yes, and then she would like, push them away.
