ROALD DAHL’S MATILDA THE MUSICAL

Dan Chameroy, “Miss Trunchbull”

>>Dan Chameroy: I’m Dan Chameroy, I play Miss Trunchbull in Toronto’s production of Matilda the Musical. And right now I’m at the Sheraton centre in Toronto, where we are going to make cakes and decorate them. But I can’t do them on my own, because there are too many cakes, so I invited some friends to help me out with that. I’d like to introduce you to my co-workers, me dear, dear friends. We’re always hanging out, Jaime, Hannah, Jenna.

Jaime MacLean, Hannah Levinson, Jenna Weir

>>Dan Chameroy: Say hello to the people girls.

>>All Three Girls: (in unison) Hi!

MEET THE MATILDAS

Cake Baking Edition

Alex Shterenberg, Executive Sous Chef

>>Alex Shterenberg: We have already gone through and cut them in half for you, you can see that they’re cut. Basically just watch what I’m doing , and you can do it yourselves. We pop open the top like this.

>>Dan Chameroy: Pop open the top!

>>Alex Shterenberg: Take some of the icing onto your spatula, and sort of just plop it right on top like that.

>>Dan Chameroy: You have a favourite book right now?

>>Jenna Weir: I’m just in the middle of the Harry Potter series.

>>Dan Chameroy: Ahhh, very good stories.

>>Alex Shterenberg: Now what we want to do is put that top that we talked about, on top of your cake. 1, 2, 3, flip ‘er.

>>Jaime MacLean: It looks like a giant Oreo!

>>Alex Shterenberg: It does.

>>Hannah Levinson: It does!

>>Dan Chameroy: Has anyone ever sat on a cake? That look very comfortable right now.

>>Alex Shterenberg: What do you think we need to do now?

>> 3 Matildas: Icing!

>>Alex Shterenberg: That’s right. Don’t be shy, you want a good amount of icing cuz you gotta take it everywhere.

>>Dan Chameroy: Sprinkle time.

>>Jaime MacLean: I got a really good idea.

>>Dan Chameroy: What’s your really good idea?

>>Jaime MacLean: Red, and rainbow.

>>Jenna Weir: Buhhhh

>>Dan Chameroy: Buhhhh. It’s good to make noise when you’re decorating.

>>Hannah Levinson: Baahhh!

>>Dan Chameroy: What’s the name of the cake?

>>Jaime MacLean: Rainbow Paradise.

>>Hannah Levinson: Splattered Rainbow. It’s all splattered on top.

>>Dan Chameroy: It’s a Splattered Rainbow. Splattered Rainbow (GASP)

>>Jenna Weir: Sprinkle Heaven.

>>Dan Chameroy: Sprinkle Heaven!

>>Hannah Levinson: 3, 2, 1…..Mmmmmm.

>>Dan Chameroy: Really? Is it that good?

>>Hannah Levinson: It’s so good.

>>Dan Chameroy: I’m sure it’s delicious, I don’t want a piece myself. I’ll just stand here, and um, watch you eat it.

>>Hannah Levinson: Your cake sir.

>>Dan Chameroy: Thank you. Can I just have one more piece of cake. Like, I don’t care, just any piece of cake.

>>Hannah Levinson: Sure! (All three girls smooth cake into his face while giggling)
