Sweet Charity starred Donna McKechnie. It was the final production directed by the brilliant Bob Fosse. It was headed to Broadway and played Toronto from July 6 to August 29, 1987 and then went to Washington. On the opening night there, on the way to the theatre with his ex-wife Gwen Verdon, Fosse suffered a hard attack and died on the street.
