Rock of Ages

THE CRITICS APPLAUD!

" 4 STARS. It don’t get better than this! A Grade-A outing" - Richard Ouzounian, The Toronto Star

"Pure foot-stomping hand-clapping fun! ROCK OF AGES gives you a rush and leaves you with a smile on your face. It’s fun, fun, fun!” - Lynn Slotkin, CBC Radio

"4 STARS! An intoxicating brew! Theatrical alchemy!" - John Coulbourn, The Toronto Sun

"Come on feel the noise! ROCK OF AGES is wild, wild, wild!" - Erin Davis, CHFI

"5 STARS! You are going to love this show! You'll be swept up in the joy and fun!" - Michael Englebert, The New AM 740

The Story

In 1987, on the Sunset Strip, a small town girl meets a big city rocker and, in LA's most famous rock club, they fall in love to the greatest songs of the '80s. It's ROCK OF AGES, an arena-rock love story told through the mind-blowing, face-melting hits of Journey, Foreigner, Styx, Reo Speedwagon, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, Poison, Asia, Whitesnake and many more.

Check our ticket/hotel/restaurant packages for Rock of Ages! Link here to our packages page.

Rock of Ages Ticket Lottery!

Enter your name in the lottery 2 hours before each performance, in-person at the box office. The draw will take place an hour and a half before each performance. Names will be drawn for 22 seats at $25 each in the very front row of the orchestra level and in box seats. Winners must be present and will need to show photo ID.

This lottery is available in-person, at the box office, only: cash only, with a limit of two tickets per person. Wristband policy in effect (i.e., anyone to whom a discounted lottery ticket is issued must be fitted with a wristband at time of purchase; a lottery winner may not purchase a second ticket to hold for a another person not present at the time of the draw).

Questions About the Show?

Q. Is there loud music in the show? Are there strobe lights?  Well, it's a rock musical set in the late '80s, and you're gonna feel like you're at a rock concert during parts of it, so, yeah, the music is sort of loud and there are all kinds of special lighting effects, including strobes.

Q: Is ROCK OF AGES appropriate for children?  ROA is a full-out, blast-off, hold-onto-your-hairspray celebration of the great rock music of the '80s, and you might be wondering - or, admit it, hoping - if your kids will love it as much as you will. Well, we think they will, but you should know that some of the costumes, dancing and language might not be appropriate for kids under the age of 14. We think teenagers will dig it, because it's totally awesome - sort of like a music video brought to life, complete with hot dancers and blazing guitar licks. You know the maturity of your children better than we do, so we suggest you use your best judgement about whether or not the show is appropriate for them. Remember, if you do bring them, they'll get to see you rockin' like you did back in the day. Just so you know

Suggested for ages 14+. Children under the age of two will not be admitted.

Bought tickets in early May as a 27th Wedding Anniversary present for my hubby (and me of course). We saw the show on July 3rd and absolutely loved it!!! The 80's was our era, the best times and the best music. We plan to go again this weekend!!! The show was amazing, I sang right along with the cast and I even caught my husband shaking his booty in the aisle. ROA really ROCKS!!!

  • September 1, 2010 12:09pm Karen K says

Saw Rock of Ages back in July and can't wait to see it again. It's a fabulous show with great music. The actors are second to none with amazing voices. Everyone should see it!

This show was great! Hilarious, entertaining, rad, awesome...don't give it justice.

  • August 2, 2010 11:00pm Taylor C says

Rock of Ages is the best musical i have ever seen. I saw it with Tony LePage as Stacee Jaxx, Adrienne Merrell as Regina. and one of my personal favorites, Caleb Cosman as Franz.
Yvan had a mind blowing voice, along with Elicia who also had one hell or a voice. Lonny was funny. Stacee Jaxx was hilarious because he took well to 5 dudes calling him an asshole :P Dennis was a well written character. Hertz had a great role. Franz was hilarious! My favorite quote from him was "Im not gay, Im just German" The band was kick ass. One of the best bands ive ever seen. Overall the best musical this Millennium! Be Proud ROA Staff and Actors/Actresses :)

Just saw Rock of Ages for the second time!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was even better this time around. What a show to come to Toronto. Everyone should go and see this show. It is funny, with great music, and cast. Yvan is amazing as Drew. He is a true rock star. Elicia, what a talented and beautiful actress. And Aaron as Lonny, he always steals the show. Extremely fun. The whole cast is great. This cast should play these roles on broadway, and the movie of Rock of Ages being made. It totally rocks!!!!!!!!! Don't stop believin'.
P.S I wish this cast would record a cast recording. I would be first in line to buy it.

Just saw Rock of Ages for the second time July 27th...even better the second time around...Yvan has the most mind-blowing voice...I was mesmerized...and David and Aaron make the show as they are so funny...of course Elicia has a fantastic voice too...I'm working on a 3rd time...sitting right up front this time...row J was great (much better than the 3rd level where I sat the first time, and was afraid to stand up lest I fell over the balconey) but next time I'm going for the front! Awesome...

  • July 27, 2010 10:31am Wendy Legendre says

Rock of Ages was AWESOME! Yvan Pedneault has one of those voices that must be heard again and again, but most surprising... I had never heard of Tony Lepage till I saw him playing Lonny the night we went to see the show. Tony is absolutely HILARIOUS! As the night went on, Tony only needed to walk on stage and he had a reaction from the crowd. Where did this guy come from and how come I've never seen him on TV? I always tell people Canada makes the BEST comedians and Tony proves that once again.

The whole show is FANTASTIC, but whoever is lucky enough to see Tony LePage (understudy) play Lonny is in for a treat. My fingers are crossed that he'll be playing that role on our second visit!

  • July 23, 2010 8:51pm hannah mcgregor says

THE BEST SHOW I HAVE EVER SEEN

I have never seen such a great show. I don't think nothing will ever compare to this. It was funny, great superb voices, great acting and so on. I was so amazed by the whole show that I was the first to get up for a standing ovation. Since I am normally a little shy that is different for me but I didn't care. It was just so great. I am going back to see it again. I can't wait. I would love to be able to meet the of the cast and band. TERRIFIC!

  • June 9, 2010 9:52pm Janine Cavanaugh says

Amazing show! I've seen it twice and will go again and again! Incredibly talented cast...Mr. Mirvish...please, please record our canadian performers and make us our own cd! Yvan, Elicia and Peter ROCKED in a way only Canadians can! I enjoyed their voices much more than their American counterparts! Well done to all involved, this was the best musical I have ever been to!

  • June 5, 2010 7:48am Allan Stiver says

Just saw the show last night....AWESOME! EVERYONE should go see this show......the lighting, music and talent were just a blast......and the little things that made it a "Canadianized" version really added to it! Keep on rockin' everyone! It looked like everyone on stage was having as much fun up there as we were in the audience.....

Some tips: Check out Big Daddy's Crab Shack for dinner beforehand.....deeeeeelicious! And don't park in the lot right beside the theater....$25!!!!, if you drive right around the corner, you can park under the theatre for about $10 and take an elevator up!

  • June 2, 2010 11:19am Nick says

5 Stars! Fantastic Show. My wife and I saw it May 16th and we have already purchased tickets to see it again!

  • May 31, 2010 2:55pm Marlene Heinrichs says

My husband and I, along with our friends, just saw the Sunday, May 30th afternoon show and were absolutely amazed! The entire cast rocked.. and we always appreciate the true talent it takes to perform live onstage, and still be able to sing and dance without missing a beat. And Aaron, as Lonny, no one can wear a half-shirt like you can! And Franz in his blue spandex outfit.. what can I say?? Hilarious!!.. MY favourite line "I'm not gay, I'm German!!"

Thanks again to the entire ensemble for a fabulous entertaining show!

  • May 31, 2010 12:04pm Anna M Smith says

Took the husband to see the show on Saturday May 28th (First timer as he had never been to a show in TO before) and boy oh boy what a awsome show. We laughed, we sang, we enjoyed the show so much we want to come back. Loved Aaron as Lonny. You rocked. We are still talking about this show. A MUST SEE for all.

  • May 30, 2010 5:30pm Wendy B. says

What an amazing cast!! The house band was phenomenal and their sound was rock concert quality. Yvan and Elicia shone as the innocent lovers with big city dreams. Peter bedazzled the audience with his oh so accurate portrayal of an 80's glam rocker and David warmed the hearts of many with his depiction of the lovable hippie Dennis. However, the highlight of the show was Aaron Walpole as the narrator. He brought the character of Lonny to life with comedy and killer moves. Never has a crop top and sequined star nipple covers been worn so well by a man! Kudos to a tremendously well performed show. Canada should be proud of all of it's amazing talent. This was money well spent. Wishing the cast continued success and a long run.

  • May 29, 2010 11:13pm Susan Holmes says

My daughter surprised me with tickets to see the show. Rock of Ages is hands-down the BEST theatre production I have ever been too. It is the total package: awesome 80's music, a fantastic cast, comedy, a bit of drama thrown in and....did I mention that awesome 80's music!!! The entire cast was amazing. And when Yvan Pednault hits that final note during "Oh Sherrie" I thought I would die. For three hours this afternoon I was thrilled, entertained, inspired and my cares and worries were forgotten. I will be back again as soon as possible. Simply outstanding.

  • May 29, 2010 7:38pm Remberto Penate says

They built the city on rock'n roll, they were wanted dead or alive, but "we're not going to take", so don't stop believin! - sound familiar...THE MOST FANTASTIC AND BEST THEATRE EXPERIENCE WE HAVE EVER HAD!!! I brought 40 people on a Coach Bus last friday night and we had an absolute blast...from the moment we entered the theatre we returned to a time of classic rock, big hair, and wine coolers. The music was fabulous! We laughed and danced throughout the entire show! Never have we experienced such a true flashback to the 80's. The cast and the band ROCKED! They made us feel part of their story and connected so well with the audience. We hope to return again to share in this experience - you don't want to miss it!

I saw the show on April 22nd - it was amazing! I laughed and cheered right along with everyone else. The singing, dancing and sauntering done by the cast - especially Aaron Walpole (Lonny) - was wonderful. It was crude, rude and absolutely delightful and I especially enjoyed the improvisation! If it ever comes to Ottawa, I would love to take my daughter.

  • April 28, 2010 12:48pm Valerie M says

An absolute gem has fallen onto Toronto's theatre scene! Multi talented actors, hilarious, fabulous song choices. It IS the feel good theatrical experience of 2010! You can't help feeling for each and every character on the stage. I love when people take songs and weave them into a story like this. My entire family had a great time last night. I'm already figuring out how many times I can get back to see it and how many of my friends I'll get to come with me. Yvan Pedneault, we all knew you were talented from WWRY but boy, your pipes have exploded on this one. Crazy!! Let's also not forget Aaron Walpole (Lonny). Honey you do not need Idol, this is definately your calling. The theatre world would have a huge hole to fill had you gone on to win Idol. Kudos to all of you. I'm sure the run will be long, with deserved standing ovations after every performance.

I'm a picky theatre goer...and I loved every minute of this. The leads are fantastic, the band rocks out, the comedy hits all the right notes. It's a winner all around. Congrats!

Leave the kids at home for this one! Elicia has traded in her sweet Maria Von Trapp persona & rocks it out with a hilarious and phenomenally talented crew!
The show is packed full - and I will definitely be going back again!!! Awesome!!

After seeing We Will Rock You, I was wondering when another musical would come out that would be just as much fun - and it's finally here! I went to see Rock of Ages with my mom and we absolutely loved it. The music is amazing and it's the cast is brilliant. If you love 80's music you'll definitely love it. I wasn't around in the 80's and didn't know all the music, but the dancing and the energy from the cast makes you fall in love!

Can't wait to see it again!

I just saw the show an hour ago and all I can say is that this has been the best musical that I have ever seen. The music, the humour, the clothes, and the hair. Outstanding!!! For over two hours I felt like I was 18 years old again.

I was one of the first lucky audience members to see Rock of Ages on April 21st. I can't quit raving to my friends, family and co-workers how great this show is... who needs to got to Broadway when Toronto has a show likes this! Not since the "Mama Mia" years, has a show brought so much energy and excitement to the stage! I laughed until my sides split, and was in awe of the musical talent on stage. Not only are the leads Elicia and Yvan outstanding, the entire ensemble is sensational and not to be missed. RUN, don't walk to get your tickets. I'm already planning to go to the show again..and again..and again...

My daughter and I loved it! I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. The singing was amazing - better than the Broadway soundtrack!

This show is incredible. It took everything in me not to run up, push the performers off of the stage and rock out in my own world... That's what this show does to you.

Best ensemble cast Toronto has seen in a VERY long time.

I wanted to see this show because I'm a HUGE Bon Jovi fan. Well, not only did I get an awesome version of Wanted Dead or Alive, but a bonus of an absolutely fantastic show. Great songs, amazingly sung, and a great story made from them. Loved Lonny - absolutely hillarious. Yvan was just as great as in We Will Rock You and my husband quite enjoyed the girls' "costumes". Would highly recommend this show to everyone!

I saw the show 3 times already and it only started on April 20. I know a few people in the show from WE WILL ROCK YOU as I saw it 55 times! Whenever and if ever you're feeling down, go see the show. I can bet you will be feeling better once you leave! I always start an encore and it is always a good one when I'm there. I have met so many nice people from going to the theatre and I will continue going as long as I can! Thanks for bringing this to TORONTO. "WHAT'S GOING DOWN TORONTO!!!"<3

Absolutely loved it. Rock of Ages is now officially my favourite musical watched to date(and I have seen many). The music was unbelieveable. The cast incredible. The story line was hilarous(I was cracking up the whole show). Went to the show with my 62 year old mother in law and 70 year old aunt. They were singing the songs the whole way home. This show is great for all ages. Would love to see again...have a girls night out and dress in 80's clothes. I think it would be a blast.

P.S. Loved the narrator (forget his name). He truly made the show.
