The first electrically lit public building in Toronto was a theatre, the Princess Theatre, built in 1895. The Princess stood on the south side of King St. West until it was torn down to make way for the extension of University Ave. from King to Front.

24 day-of rush seats are available for any remaining seats at the discretion of the box office manager. Seats will be sold in-person only on a first-come basis daily when the Ed Mirvish Theatre box office opens. Check the box office hours as they vary weekly. There is a limit of two tickets per person. There is no guarantee that there will be any available seats.

Try your luck with the lottery! Here is the lottery ticket policy for the National Tour, which is now on sale at the Princess of Wales Theatre in Toronto and plays a limited 6 week engagement through June 9, 2013. In Toronto, the production will conduct a pre-show lottery at the box office, with up to 24 tickets available at $25 each, cash only.
Entries will be accepted at the box office beginning two and a half hours prior to each performance; each person will print their name and the number of tickets (1 or 2) they wish to purchase on a ballot that is provided. Two hours before curtain, names will be drawn at random for a limited number of tickets priced at $25 each. Only one entry is allowed per person. Upon entry, ballots are checked for duplication. All winners AND guests must be present at the time of the drawing and show valid ID to purchase tickets. Limit one entry per person and two tickets per winner. Tickets are subject to availability.
