Twelve Angry Men TWELVE ANGRY MEN

June 3 - 15, 2008

The Princess of Wales Theatre
300 King St. West

TICKETS ON SALE

They're back! Richard Thomas and his band of angry men are re-convening on Toronto's stage after the tremendous response they received the first time around! Do not miss this limited engagement of what has often been described as the "best courtroom drama ever".

Twelve Jurors. Twelve walks of life. And only two ways to rule: guilty or not guilty. What seems like an open-and-shut murder case becomes a twisted puzzle of prejudice and intrigue. Twelve Jurors in a murder trial are corralled in a room for the duration of their deliberation. As prejudices are tested and evidence weighed, the entire jury is forced to look past the show of the courtroom to unearth the shocking truth. Faced with playing the hangmen, these dozen men must first face themselves. Starring Richard Thomas and directed by Scott Ellis, the national tour of Twelve Angry Men is produced by Roundabout Theatre Company, one of America's leading not-for-profit theatres.

"It's engaging, entertaining and enlightening all at once: a triple-crown you don't encounter very often. "
- Richard Ouzounian, The Toronto Star

A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM

June 6 - 15, 2008

The Canon Theatre
244 Victoria St
Toronto, ON

"Ravishing and enchanting. Tim Supple's all-Indian production is a Dream as you've never seen it." - The Daily Mail

Presented by a company of 23 Indian and Sri Lankan artists whose skills are as diverse as their backgrounds - not only actors but also dancers, singers, musicians, street acrobats and martial arts experts - this Indian Dream combines ancient traditions and modern urban sensibilities in a glorious fusion of styles and techniques.

It's fusion, too, of language, for the play is spoken not only in English but also in tongues native to its performers: Tamil, Malayalam, Sinhalese, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi and Sanskrit. The result is a Dream that transcends language itself; a Dream as gorgeous to the senses as it is thrilling to the mind.

Following its sensational first run in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata, the production played to packed houses at the Roundhouse in London, England, and twice in Stratford-upon-Avon as part of the Royal Shakespeare Company's Complete Works Festival. After a sell-out British tour, it is now playing to audiences around the world. Don't miss this Canadian premiere of a Dream beyond your wildest imaginings.
